Rangers may well be lining up a move for Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson – if talented midfielder Glen Kamara is sold [Scottish Sun].

Finnish international Kamara has reportedly been interesting a host of English Premier League clubs [Daily Mail], with Steven Gerrard confirming the midfielder is being watched [Scotsman] last week.

Signed from Dundee in January for £50k, Kamara’s intelligent, technical midfield displays are clearly catching the eye at Ibrox.

On top of that, Kamara is also a product of Arsenal’s Youth Academy, so earned his footballing education down south.

Rangers will hope to hold onto Kamara until at least the summer with the midfielder’s performances playing a big role in Rangers strong start to the season so far.

For both club and country – where Kamara has helped Finland to the brink of a first-ever major tournament – the midfielder’s dominant displays in the middle of the park have caught the eye.

Lewis Ferguson, who is still only 20, is one of the highest-rated talents in the Scottish game and also the son of former Rangers star Derek Ferguson and nephew of former captain Barry.

Rangers should also expect hostility from rivals Aberdeen should they try and pinch one of their top talents.

Contracted to Aberdeen until the summer of 2024, Rangers may well have to splash the cash to bring the talented midfielder to Ibrox.

But should Rangers sell Glen Kamara in January, or the summer, the club should be able to reinvest part of that considerable fee back into the playing squad.

But is Ferguson a suitable replacement for the midfielder?
