Rangers club insider Four Lads rubbishes links to three players

When club insider Four Lads Had a Dream say something, it’s generally got a greater semblance of truth than a lot of the information out of there.
The Rangers fan page is close to the club, and incredibly well-trusted by supporters. And after a spate of obscure reports linked us with three obscure players, they were quick to pour cold water on them.
According to the page. Rangers are not interested in Stewart Downing, Eamonn Brophy, or Steven Naismith after all.
It’ll come as a big relief to many supporters. All three players are thought to be a mixture of being too old, too uninspiring or too poor to make the grade at Ibrox.
The general feeling is that if we’re to challenge at the top of the Premier League, we’ll need better quality. Quality, after all, is what Steven Gerrard has promised the fans [Rangers.co.uk].
Stewart Downing was most recently linked to the club by prominent Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie. That followed earlier reports Rangers were looking at the out-of-contract Middlesbrough player [Teeside Live].

Kilmarnock’s Eamonn Brophy – who just made Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad –
was also recently linked with a move [TEAMtalk]. Any interest in Steven Naismith has largely been whispers from supporters.
But according to Four Lads, all three moves have been rubbished by the club.
