Rangers club historian David Mason has said it will take a “minor miracle” for Rangers to land title number 55 this year.
Quoted by the Daily Star, Mason spoke of the need to learn from the experience of this season and take it into the next.
Mason should know what it takes for a Rangers’ side to win a title. After all, he’s dedicated a career to learning all about the great teams who have.

Speaking about the club’s title chances, David Mason said: “We were hopeful until a few matches ago. We beat Celtic in December and after that, we felt there was a real challenge.
“It slipped up after that, letting a few games go, whereas Celtic had a couple of last-minute goals to get three points.
“It’s pushed it beyond us this season – we’d need a minor miracle now.”
But even if Mason thinks without divine intervention we won’t secure that elusive 55th title this year, he has no doubt Gerrard is the man to deliver it.
“I think he’ll have learned a lot this year about his players,” said the club historian. “He knows where the gaps are in his team and where to improve.

“I would hope we would be better next year, learning from this season.”
But if Rangers can pick up all three points against Celtic tomorrow, then that miracle might well be back on. I thought the possibility of any title race might come down to this match.
You never know, stranger things have happened.
