A report has claimed that the Rangers Board were split over a move for Michael Beale after ex-Premier League boss Sean Dyche impressed the club’s hierarchy.
The ex-Burnley boss has been vocal about his desire to get back into management after ten years with the Clarets, whom he’d kept in the Premier League for the bulk of his tenure.

But amid high-profile links to Rangers the latest coming out of Ibrox suggests the Gers have been granted permission to talk to ex-Ibrox assistant Michael Beale by QPR [Sky Sports].
If all goes to plan, it certainly looks like Michael Beale will become the 18th manager of Rangers but there has been some talk regarding Sean Dyche in Football Insider.
Rangers board reportedly torn over Michael Beale and Sean Dyche
They are claiming that the Ibrox board are concerned about a “growing backlash” regarding the Michael Beale move with the club’s hierarchy torn between the ex-Ibrox man and Sean Dyche.
The report claims that Dyche is “keen on the Ibrox post” and that he fancies having a crack with what is a massive club which plays regularly at the top European level.
Ross Wilson is said to be the major Michael Beale advocate from within Ibrox and despite the split feeling on the Rangers board appears to have convinced the club’s chiefs to pursue the QPR manager.
It adds an extra dimension to the club’s discussions with a range of managers after the sacking of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers know the next appointment has to be the right one.
Michael Beale may well be viewed as a safe option given his relationship with the club’s current players and his experience of life at Ibrox.
But the coach is also highly-rated in his own right and even turned down a Premier League approach from Wolves only a few months ago.
Meanwhile, there appears to be more to a £9.5m Rangers drama than initially meets the eye.
