Rangers boss Michael Beale has ominously confirmed the club are awaiting the results of a scan as Kemar Roofe suffers yet another injury.
The Ibrox manager confirmed following the midweek League Cup victory over Livingston that the 30-year-old striker had suffered a groin problem in the match.
And now the Rangers manager has expanded on the situation as Kemar Roofe and the Ibrox club nervously await the outcome of this latest injury.
“Until we get the news back from the scan we don’t know what we’re dealing with [regards Kemar Roofe’s injury]” said Michael Beale before the Premiership visit of Aberdeen.
“Obviously, it’s disappointing for Kemar because he came back into the team and did so well. Let’s hope it’s nothing too serious and he’ll be available in the short term rather than the long term.
“It’s frustrating because he’s such a big player, such a very good player. It’s hard because he’s not been available as much as he likes now for three managers not just myself and it looked like he was in a really good place.
“He was contributing well so let’s just hope he’s just felt a niggle and come out but the right thing is to get the scan.”

Rangers await news on Kemar Roofe injury
When managers start hitting out with the “we don’t know until we know” patter I think we all know that it’s generally bad news and not good news that everyone is waiting on.
The situation comes as a bitter blow to Rangers and another blow to Kemar Roofe who faces yet more time laid up with injury after two seasons which were devastated by a variety of problems.
Whilst there will be sympathy from the ranks of the Ibrox support, the situation has brought the squad management decisions of Michael Beale and the Rangers hierarchy under the microscope.
As the club’s new-look frontline stutters at the start of their collective Ibrox careers, Michael Beale pointed to Kemar Roofe being a key player for the club this season despite his recent run of injury form.

This had alarm bells ringing back then and even more so now with such a vital part of the squad seemingly gambled on and Rangers now potentially multiple strikers light.
It’s a gamble which remains mid-roll and as the club await the dice landing, in a few months we could be reflecting on a major injury to Kemar Roofe as being a huge moment in the Rangers career of Michael Beale.
