Rangers have announced the RangersTV team for Wednesday night’s Premiership fixture against St Johnstone at Ibrox [RangersTV].

The Gers take on the Saints with the aim of restoring their 23-point lead at the top of the table following Celtic’s 4-0 win at Kilmarnock on Tuesday.

The Rangers players had the weekend off and so should come into the game fresh, while they face an in-form St Johnstone side who are League Cup final bound and who came from two goals down to win at Rugby Park on Saturday.

With the fixture taking place behind closed doors and Sky Sports not picking up the match, RangersTV will be providing the coverage for both season ticket holders and non-season ticket holders (via PPV).

The show’s host hasn’t yet been confirmed, but Ibrox hero Neil McCann will once again appear as a pundit and he’ll be joined by Rangers women’s team star Nicola Docherty, who is making her RangersTV debut.

Docherty is a Scotland international defender who signed for the Gers from Glasgow City in February 2020.

The 28-year-old took to Twitter after the news was announced.

“Looking forward to joining the RTV team for tomorrow nights game against St Johnstone!” she wrote. “Don’t worry I’m a Rangers fan I promise.”

Clive Tyldesley’s absence from the commentary box continues, with Tom Miller taking the lead in that regard and Kevin Thomson on co-comms.

Rangers have a perfect record at Ibrox so far this season, with 12 wins from 12 matches, and Steven Gerrard will be hoping his side can extend that run further against Callum Davidson’s well-drilled Saints.

The manager has close to a full squad to choose from for the game but after suffering an injury setback, a popular 24-year-old won’t feature between now and the end of the season.
