Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos had a special tribute planned for his mum if the Colombia forward managed to score for his country against Peru.

The 22-goal Rangers striker got his 23rd of the season against Ecuador on Tuesday night, opening his account for the South American nation much to the delight of his fans.

But on the night of his seventh cap for the Los Cafeteros, Morelos was planning a special tribute for his mother on her birthday.

As shown by South American football journalist Simon Edwards, Morelos has a special top with the phrase “feliz cumpleaños mama” printed on it.

Translated into English, the phrase simply means “Happy Birthday mum”.

The Colombian hitman had the chance to get his second goal for his country in the match but was thwarted down-low by Ecuador goalkeeper Johan David Padilla Qiñonez after some great work to win the ball outside the 18-yard box.

Unfortunately for the Rangers talisman, it wasn’t to be as he saw his low effort pushed beyond the post.

It’s still been a superb week for the young Colombian forward who finally broke his duck for the country.
