Luis Palma insists that there is ‘nothing’ currently concrete regarding a move away from Greek outfit Aris amid claims that Rangers are leading the chase for the £5 million-rated Honduras international.
We’re only in the first few days of July, and this is already shaping up to be one of the summer’s longest running transfer sagas.
Earlier in the week, new reports emerged suggesting that Rangers had submitted an opening bid of £2.5 million for Luis Palma, but had little intention of meeting Aris’ eye-watering £5 million price-tag.
This came shortly after Aris’ sporting director appeared to confirm Rangers’ interest, and Palma indicated that he would consider a move to the Scottish Premiership.

Now, in conversation with Diario el Pais, Palma insists that he remains none the wiser about what the immediate future holds. For the time being, it’s business as usual as far as the 23-year-old is concerned.
Rangers fail with Luis Palma bid
“I still don’t know. There are many rumours, but nothing on paper. I have to present myself in pre-season with Aris, with whom I have a three-year contract,” Palma explains. “In June, I have to go there.
“(My representatives have told me) nothing. They are talking, but there is nothing on paper.”
Palma, who scored 13 goals and set up eight more in ‘a dream’ 2022/23 campaign, set tongues a-wagging ahead of Aris’ final game of the Greek Super League season, but insists his ‘Last Dance’ social media message was not a goodbye.
Merely a ‘see you soon’.
“(My message) was because it was the last game of the season,” he adds. “People misinterpreted it.”
In addition to Rangers, Palma also has admirers in France, America, Belgium, Brazil and Denmark, though the player himself dreams of one league above all others. And, given the money and the prestige on offer, there are no prizes for guessing which one.
“I like the English Premier League,” Palma adds. “But, to get there, you have to score a lot of (work permit) points.
“If there are options, I hope to take the one that suits me best.”
