Premier League side hold “informal” talks over form Rangers star – report

A leading Scottish football account is claiming that Premier League club Brighton have started “informal conversations” over Rangers star Glen Kamara.

Rincón Escocés – a popular Spanish language Scottish football account – claims that Graham Potter’s side have expressed an “initial interest” in the player.

Running this as an exclusive on their Twitter page, Rincón Escocés claims that Kamara’s recent form “isn’t going unnoticed by many clubs”.

Rangers star Kamara, 24, has previously been linked to as many as 13 clubs by online football outlet TEAMtalk with Brighton mentioned amongst those interested.

Alongside Brighton, that report named Leeds, Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Burnley and Sheffield United as Premier League suitors.

Monaco, Lille, Borussia Dortmund, Dinamo Moscow and Dynamo Kiev have also been credited with an interest.

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister spoke about how much Glen is catching the eye and any potential transfer interest in the player.

“I saw Brian Laudrup touching on that in an article recently and we, as a club, are playing in these high-level, elite games and Glen is catching the eye,” said McAllister [Herald].

“That is par for the course at big clubs. When someone is producing that kind of form, you are going to court interest from others. That is just the way that the game is but it is also a big compliment.

“Come that moment, it has got to be a moment that suits us. It has got to be us that hold the aces here and we are not put under pressure to sell our best players.

“There is always going to be a moment, but as long as we are always in control of that. That is the main thing.”

Rangers star Kamara famously joined the club for £50k in January 2019 and over the last 10 months has established himself as a key player for club and country.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has previously called for the Ibrox board to step up their efforts in securing a new deal for the midfielder, who is contracted to Ibrox until 2023.
