As Rangers defeated League One Plymouth 3-2 in a bounce match, the secrecy over who played and scored has spawned rumours of the involvement of a Premier League midfielder as a trialist.
The Ibrox side ran out winners in the match which was designed to give the club’s squad players a greater run out as they look to reach match fitness in a hectic season.
There’s been no official mention of the match from Rangers and the Plymouth Argyle match report does not mention any of the players involved from a Rangers point of view.
It’s led to a spate of rumours that West Ham midfielder Jack Wilshere was involved for Rangers, although there is absolutely nothing official to substantiate this.

Twitter is awash with fans commenting on the rumours which will surely now stand as the most dramatic link of the transfer window so far.
According to Transfermarkt, Wilshere, 28, is contracted to West Ham until next summer with the rumour suggesting the Gers would be moving for the player on loan.

But before any more Rangers fans get excited about a potential move for the midfielder, they should know the player was pictured in West Ham training at St. Andrews yesterday in an Instagram post on the club’s official account.
Wilshere might very well be a good player when he’s fit and injury-free but even the former Arsenal star would struggle to be in two places at once.
Unless the player travelled to the Rangers Training Centre later in the day to take part in the friendly…
Ex-Arsenal Academy graduate and 34-cap England international Jack Wilshere certainly has very strong pedigree but the midfielder is notoriously injury-prone, making a move to Scotland appear very unlikely.
Rangers have also been linked with a move for another Premier League midfielder as they look to add to the engine room, this time from an official report rather than online rumours.
