The Old Firm derby was Rangers last meaningful game of the season with Aberdeen the first of three torturous games until a miserable campaign is over.
Things started off badly in the summer when it became clear that Ibrox wasn’t going to be ready and when recruitment left a lot to be desired.
Going into Champions League qualifiers with Ross McCausland and Connor Barron as starters was always going to end in tears.
There is excitement off the pitch with the 49ers Enterprises about to takeover the club and with Kevin Thelwell appointed as sporting director.
All Rangers have to do now is get things right on the pitch, with Barry Ferguson looking for his first win at Ibrox.

Predicted Rangers XI vs Aberdeen
Liam Kelly was impressive against Celtic and deserves to keep his place, however, as one of the highest earners at the club, it makes no sense to keep Jack Butland on the bench.
He should be given a chance to regain his confidence ahead of the summer transfer window.
Injuries dictate some of the decisions at the back, but there is no reason to change the defence that kept Celtic largely at bay.
The one substitute that most would probably want to see is Neraysho Kasanwirjo for James Tavernier, if he is fit enough to start.
It is a similar story in midfield, even if the shape changes, there is no reason to drop any of the three who started against Celtic with Bailey Rice likely to get more minutes off the bench.
In attack is where the most changes should be made though.

New look Rangers attack
There is nothing to be gained by playing Cyriel Dessers. Craig Moore was right about Dessers’ performance against Celtic in that it was very typical.
Aside from the goal, you wouldn’t know that he was playing.
Hamza Igamane has to start the remaining fixtures in his best position.
Either side of him should be natural wingers too with Vaclav Cerny and Oscar Cortes providing balance, pace, and more chance of getting round the outside of opposition full-backs.
The likes of Cortes and Danilo can’t get sharper if they don’t play.
Ferguson isn’t getting the job on a permanent basis, his job now should be to help prepare for next season.
