Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has topped the FIFA 22 physical ratings for the Scottish top flight.

Ahead of the release of the latest edition of the EA Sports game, the SPFL have revealed Premiership top tens for various attributes.

For example, Ryan Kent and Brandon Barker share second place in the pace rankings, with Fashion Sakala coming in seventh.

The ‘physical’ category, also known as physicality, represents the physical and body status of a player and takes into account things like strength and fitness levels.

There are only two Rangers players in the top ten for this category, but Morelos tops the pile alongside St Mirren’s Curtis Main, with ratings of 84.

Morelos has a far superior overall rating of 76 compared to Main’s 64, though.

Connor Goldson is the other Gers star to make the list. He has a physical rating of 82, which is identical to that given to former Rangers player Ross McCrorie, who now plays for Aberdeen.

Again, though, Goldson’s overall rating of 76 is much better than McCrorie’s 68.

The SPFL also tweeted FIFA 22’s list of the top 12 ‘brightest young stars’ in the Premiership.

Nathan Patterson is the one Rangers player to make the cut.

The 19-year-old has the joint-highest overall rating in the group with 66, sharing top spot with Celtic’s Stephen Welsh.

As Patterson is a fully-fledged Scotland international and Welsh has only been capped at youth international level, it’s a surprise that the Gers Academy graduate isn’t out on his own at the top.

In other news, a former Rangers captain has hit out at his old club for what he believes is a major failing.
