Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that Neraysho Kasanwirjo will be out for the long-term due to injury.
The Dutchman picked up a problem whilst on international duty with the Netherlands U21 squad having been forced off the pitch looking distraught.
Rangers fans feared the worst at the time and now Clement has said the defender on loan from Feyenoord will see a surgeon as well as being out injured for the ‘longer term’.

Neraysho Kasanwirjo suffers ‘long term’ injury
Clement told the press on Friday: “Kasanwirjo is going to have an appointment with a surgeon today, and we will have more news over the weekend – for sure a longer-term injury.
“A blow for everyone, especially for him. This is football, it is really hard as he was adapting really well.”
The 22-year-old proved his quality over recent weeks for Rangers and replaced captain James Tavernier at right-back on a couple of occasions.
But his development has been cruelly halted and it remains to be seen how severe the injury he sustained is in terms of a timeframe for returning.
Rangers injury news ahead of Dundee United
In more positive news, Clement said that Ross McCausland and Ridvan Yilmaz are both now available to play against Dundee United.
McCausland had a foot issue but the winger is now fit again. Left-back Yilmaz has been training with his Rangers teammates this week and could be picked to start at Ibrox on Saturday.
Wingers Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes remain out, however. Matondo is still dealing with a ‘small issue’ according to Clement, while Cortes should be back training with the team next week.
