Peter Lovenkrands has delivered his verdict on Steven Gerrard and Rangers, with the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership campaign coming to an end.
The Light Blues lost four out of their last five games following the split, as they failed to close in on Hearts or Celtic in the title race.
Despite that, Danny Rohl has the backing of the Rangers board going into the summer transfer window.

Peter Lovenkrands stunned as Rangers decide against speaking to Steven Gerrard
Lovenkrands was told on Premier Sports that the Gers had the opportunity to enter talks with Gerrard before giving Rohl their vote of confidence.
It was claimed that the former Rangers boss would be open to having conversations about a return, but the club decided not to go ahead with it.
This decision stunned Lovenkrands, as he believes that it is a huge gamble to stick with Rohl, given the way the season ended for them.

He believes that if things do not work out and he is being backed this summer, the new manager will have to deal with the squad assembled by the German.
Lovenkrands said: “For me, it’s going to be a huge gamble in a way. Of course, it’s a gamble to get a new manager anyway.
“But it’s also a huge gamble to [make him] stay and then have to build up on getting Danny Rohl and then he doesn’t deliver next season, and it starts poorly, and it’s not going the way they want to and they have to then sack him again and then get new people in and then that’s new manager going to come in with the players that Danny Rohl brought in.”

What Danny Rohl will be looking to change ahead of the new season
Rohl knows that losing four games on the bounce is unacceptable and he will want to make amends ahead of next season.
Signing leaders is something that he would want to prioritise, but it is also essential that he has a fixed system and buys players that fit into it.
There has been too much chopping and changing in recent months, with some players seeming confused as to what is expected of them.
Also, it is imperative that he lets go of players who do not fully buy into the project at Ibrox.
