The future of Rangers player Scott Wright is uncertain following his missed opportunity against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup.
Wright had originally signed for the club on a pre-contract deal from Aberdeen, but he moved to the Gers in January 2021 in order to get some experience and settle into the club as we were strolling towards the league title.

The 24 year won a league winners medal having played a bit part in the second half of the season, scoring once against St Johnstone as the Scottish Premiership crown was wrapped up in early March.
Scott Wright fails to take major chance in Scottish Cup as Ranger future under Giovanni van Bronckhorst unclear
Having scored against Livingston in an opening day win, the winger looked like he could kick on and fight for a starting XI berth as Steven Gerrard aimed to repeat last year’s heroics with the squad.
Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out like that under Gerrard, and much can be the same since Giovanni van Bronckhorst took charge. Featuring in only eight of the 17 matches during the Dutchman’s tenure so far.
Goals against Lyon and St Mirren showed flashes of his talent, yet he hasn’t performed well enough to command a spot in the starting XI on a regular basis.
The latest chance presented to him was against Annan in the Scottish Cup and although it was against League Two opposition, the Scot didn’t exactly set the world on fire during his 90 minutes.

With Gio looking to retune the squad and eventually bring in his own signings following the Gerrard era, Wright may find himself surplus to requirements in the summer unless his performances improve over the next three months.
