Rangers are reportedly on the verge of signing Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo [Daily Record] as Steven Gerrard looks to complete his fourth signing of the window.

The 21-year-old left winger could also soon be followed into the doors of Ibrox by Ryan Kent. The fan favourite is reportedly also closing in on a deal [The Scottish Daily Mail (10/6, back page)].

But what kind of player are Rangers getting in Ojo? He is clearly someone highly rated by Jurgen Klopp, who used him sparingly in his early years at Liverpool.

But what do the Liverpool fans think? Well, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. There are some who’ve been positive about his ability.


But when discussing the player and the deal, many of the Liverpool faithful commented on the decision to loan him instead of selling him.

The fact he’s just signed a five-year deal at Anfield might answer that.


A powerful, athletic winger who is highly rated at Anfield, Liverpool may well be tying down one of their biggest talents. They may well be preserving his value. It’s most likely both.

But whatever the case, Rangers have a player who is very highly rated by the Merseyside club. Even if some Liverpool fans aren’t convinced that he can make the grade at Anfield.
