‘Objectively, very funny’ Aberdeen meltdown caused by Rangers reserves snatching late draw

Rangers fans would be forgiven for not paying much attention to what is happening in the Scottish Premiership.

The title is all but guaranteed to head to Parkhead unless there is a collapse of biblical proportions and Barry Ferguson manages his team to consecutive 7-0 wins until the end of the season.

The draw at Pittodrie wasn’t one to be celebrated given that the same mistakes and problems that have beset the interim Rangers manager since he took over returned once again.

At last minute goal whilst being down to 10-men and after being 2-0 down, is though, especially against Aberdeen.

Not because of any importance of the result, but because of how funny it was.

Rangers ruin Aberdeen’s cup final parade

They thought at half-time that they were in for a great afternoon in the sunshine.

Early dreams of splitting the Old Firm faded by Christmas, but it is always a cup final when Rangers are in town.

You only have to look at Graeme Shinnie when he plays against Rangers compared to every other team in the league.

The veteran midfielder is like a man possessed.

Which made his reaction at full-time even funnier.

Of all the people to start on, John Souttar is probably the last one in the Rangers squad that he should have tried to take on.

Rangers fan media see the funny side of Aberdeen draw

Celebrating ruining your rivals’ day doesn’t mean that the overall shambles of the campaign has been forgotten.

Rangers’ fan media also saw the funny side:

“And in their Cup Final, Aberdeen let a half-a***d Rangers reserve side down to ten men and 2 down come back for a draw. That is, objectively, very funny,” said David Edgar of the Heart and Hand podcast.

This is Ibrox took and all together dismissive angle to the result:

“Some life being an Aberdeen fan. They couldn’t beat us with 10-men and half of those were wearing flip flops. Their club will never be any sort of threat to us.”

With nothing to cheer about, if you didn’t laugh, you’d cry, much like the Aberdeen fans at the full-time whistle!
