Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has been catching the eye at Ibrox over the last few months and now he’s doing it with Nigeria as well.
Particularly in the European qualifiers, we saw the ability Aribo has to break from deep, compose the play in the middle and arrive to score goals as well.
After only four minutes against Ukraine on his maiden Nigeria cap, Aribo introduced himself to the national side. And into the hearts of the Super Eagles fans too.
Joe Aribo had a good game in the Super Eagles midfield.
– Victor Osimhen will score goals for Nigeria.
– Samuel Chukwueze is a starboy.
– Alex Iwobi and especially Samuel Kalu were impressive.
– Etebo is a MACHINE.
– Francis Uzoho was pretty decent in goal. #UKRNGA— LEXYTEE (@adeogun193) September 11, 2019
Morning after Super Eagles – one player a lot of fans/some media kept on waxing lyrical about Joe Aribo. Wait until the guy does something wrong and we will suddenly remember he plays for Glasgow Rangers in a lowly rated Scottish league 😁 😁 😁 😁 #supeagles

So after yesterday's game, between Ndidi and Etebo who are we going to be benching to make sure Joe Aribo starts?

In Joe Aribo, Nigeria has finally found that No.10 replacement for Okocha. What we thought we had in Mikel. His b2b runs are tremendous. A new star is born!#UKRNGA #UKRNIG pic.twitter.com/WdAfqHg4RR

Shevchenko: Super Eagles are trying, they could be tough but Ukraine has better skilled players. We will thrash them.

Joe Aribo almost gets a second. His runs from deep is admirable. It's his trademark – "arriving from deep."
He's scored 4 goals in 12 appearances for Rangers this season. #UKRNGA

There’s been an outpouring of support for the gangly midfielder who clearly stole the show last night in a high-scoring 2-2 draw with Ukraine.
It’s been a superb start to Aribo’s Rangers career and the fact he’s being mentioned as a potential replacement for 73-cap Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha shows just how much he caught the eye.
It’s an exciting time for Aribo with the games coming thick and fast at Ibrox as he embarks on an international career.
