A highly-respected Ibrox insider account has dampened expectations surrounding an official announcement on the new Rangers manager at some point today (16/11).
Est Consultancy have a reputation for solid Rangers news and are speaking amid much conjecture regarding the vacant manager’s role at Ibrox.

The Gers are said to have whittled the shortlist down to three names with Giovanni van Bronckhorst the only one which is in the public domain.
Things got a lot more exciting when eagled-eyed Gers sleuths noticed a private chartered jet was set to touchdown in Glasgow this afternoon, returning from a flight to Amsterdam yesterday (15/11).
Rangers fans could barely catch a breath before odds plummeted on ex-Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman taking the reins, something which added an extra dimension to the Gio links.
Both are Dutch, both theoretically could be arriving from the Netherlands, both are substantial characters in the game.
Est Consultancy cool talk of imminent new Rangers manager announcement
But despite a Daily Record report claiming that “two Rangers security officers” whisked whoever was on that plane off without anyone getting a proper look-see, Est Consultancy have cooled talk of an announcement today.
“Might be dampening expectations but don’t expect any form of announcement today in relates to a particular managerial role,” tweets the account.
They aren’t the only ones either; the ordinarily reliable Spanish-speaking Scottish football news site Rincon Escoces claims Gio remains clear favourite even if an announcement will not be made today.
“The Giovanni van Bronckhorst presentation is NOT expected to occur today,” tweets the account.
“Yes it could take place tomorrow, but, except for change of plans, there will be no announcement this afternoon or tonight.”
Rangers fans are frantically refreshing social media feeds and news pages to get an update on what’s happening in their new manager search but supporters may have to wait until tomorrow.
It’s all getting very close though, even if one report this morning claimed that a previously ruled-out coach had been interviewed by the club.
