Lennon Miller is the talk of the Scottish Premiership steamie and mentions of Rangers are never too far away from the Motherwell star.

The 18-year-old midfielder is the big talent in the country as Lennon Miller continues to grow into his role at Fir Park, even captaining Motherwell against Rangers at Hampden.

But there will come a time when Miller outgrows the Steelmen with Rangers one of the team’s most closely linked with a move.

Having reportedly watched Lennon Miller this summer, Nils Koppen has pledged to snap up the best young Scottish talent as they emerge in the country.

But with one ex-Rangers star believing it’ll take as much as £8m to convince Motherwell to sell, the Fir Park club’s young chairman remains tight lipped on any transfer.

Motherwell chairman hails Lennon Miller

New Motherwell chairman Kyrk Macmillan is now official the youngest chairman in Scottish football having taken the reins at Fir Park at only 33-years-old.

And one of the biggest tasks Macmillan will likely face in his young tenure involves the future of Lennon Miller.

Motherwell will have to sell the midfielder when his stock is highest, whilst all those interested in a transfer will be trying to secure the most cost-effective deal possible.

But Macmillan is relaxed about the entire situation and insists the Scottish Premiership outfit will take each day as it comes with their wonderkid midfielder.

“I think Lennon (Miller) has done incredibly well since he came into the first-team,” Kyrk Macmillan told Sky Sports.

“Obviously he’s now captained the club over the last couple of matches. He did it at Hampden as well for the semi-final (against Rangers).

“I think ultimately it’s about Lennon’s growth journey and we want him to stay at Motherwell for as long as possible.

“It’s great watching him every Saturday, he gets supporters excited and people really excited to engage with him and his journey in football.

“There may come a time when Lennon decides ‘I want to try something new and another environment’.

“But ultimately we make his time at Motherwell as successful as it can be and that is who we are as a football club.

“That will be the same for Lennon as it will be hopefully for players in the future as well.”

Macmillan on Rangers target ‘conversations’

Kyrk Macmillan has also been talking about potential transfer interest in Lennon Miller amid links to the likes of Rangers.

But the Motherwell chairman was not keen to give any details away with regards the teenager’s future.

Insisting that to date there have been no ‘confirmed conversations’ around Lennon Miller’s availability, Macmillan is very much taking a ‘cross that bridge when it comes’ mentality.

“It is our model ultimately,” said Macmillan. “The club has been successful has been successful with that in the past.

“In terms of moving on younger players and being able to bring strong revenue to the football club.

“But we’ll see what happens (with Lennon Miller). There’s no confirmed conversations as yet.

“But we will see what happens and we’ll take the kind of appropriate conversations at that time.”
