A few years ago the idea that Rangers would ever be able to move for the likes of James Milner was fanciful at best.
But with Steven Gerrard at the helm, anything is really possible. The Gers gaffer has already shown that by bringing Jermain Defoe to Ibrox.
Other names being touted for potential summer moves include Danny Welbeck and James Milner. Both are established Premier League names and would represent real coups by the club.
But it’s the latter who revealed at the start of the season he would “never say never” to a move to Ibrox. Granted, he also said he’d be open to a move to Parkhead.
In an exclusive interview with the Herald, the 61 times capped former England international also said he cheers on the Gers to wind up Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson.

It really adds weight to the notion Gerrard would be interested in moving for the player. Transfermarkt values Milner at £13.5m and claims the former Leeds United player’s contract is up at the end of the season. Now 33, Milner may see a move to Ibrox as a last hurrah in his career.
He has proven he can still cut it at the highest level with Liverpool all season. But maybe now it is time to pass the mantle on and take up a new challenge.
