When news broke of Ross McCrorie potentially moving to Aberdeen yesterday, Rangers fans were largely mixed over a player who has always been a popular figure at Ibrox.
Since the move was made official, not much as changed.
The Club tonight confirms the loan signing of Scotland Under 21 International, Ross McCrorie, from Rangers on a deal until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Ross will become a permanent Aberdeen player in June 2021 on a three-year deal.
Welcome to Pittodrie Ross!

A combative defender-turned-midfielder who has previously been referred to as a “future captain” – no less by the Gaffer who sold him – it’s hard to blame them.
But McCrorie has only made 55 appearances since breaking through into the first team at Ibrox in 2017 and with competition across the defence and midfield, chances would be at a premium this season.
Having spent last season on loan at Portsmouth the loan card has already been dealt and now it’s about finding somewhere to play.
Onwards McCrorie goes to Aberdeen – a particularly interesting deal given the frosty relationship traditionally between the two clubs – where he will get minutes under Derek McInnes.
Now that the move is official, there’s been greater conversation from the Ibrox faithful about Ross and this loan-to-buy deal.
For some, for a player touted so highly it’s a substantial fall from grace.
For others, this is a decision which Rangers could rue.
Some believe the player simply wasn’t good enough or that he needs a permanent move to progress, thanking him for his service and wishing him all the best.
Many are also frustrated that the club have dealt with Aberdeen given the fractious relationship between the two clubs.
I wish McCrorie had worked out for us, unfortunately he's not developed to the standard we need just now & the lad needs games to keep developing. Glad it's a loan 1st season so he can play against that lot but not us.

To be fair McCrorie asked to leave. Can't really put that on the manager. That and the fact he is way off what we need right now.

Undisclosed???? In other words a pittence 🤬😡 Who negotiated this deal and the 1 for Greg Docherty? Should be sacked

Good luck to him 👍

Close the academy, one of our brightest prospects. If you aren’t going to give him time to bed himself in then what’s the point? The cost of the academy £50-£70k a week would be better spent elsewhere.

Shouldn’t be dealing with any clubs in Scotland. Have we forgotten all these clubs tried to ruin us?!

Good luck Ross, big step down to hopefully make the step back up in the future.
