Rangers defender and Academy graduate Ross McCrorie is set to undergo a shock medical at Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that the combative defender-turned-midfielder is expected in the northeast today to undergo a medical ahead of a loan-to-buy move.

The report claims that the two clubs have agreed a “six-figure” fee to buy McCrorie.
Derek McInnes is said to have had his eye on McCrorie for several weeks and the Aberdeen boss has swooped in ahead of Hibs to agree a deal.
The Edinburgh club reportedly made a couple of bids for McCrorie but couldn’t agree a suitable fee with Rangers [Edinburgh Live].
The deal suits Aberdeen as it postpones shelling out for the player until next season but it remains unclear if McCrorie will be available to play against Rangers this season.
If the player is not then it strengthens our rivals against the rest of the league but means they cannot use the player against us.
The news comes after Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admitted that the club were just waiting on McCrorie’s decision over an offer.
“Ross is close,” said Gerrard [Scottish Sun].
“Again, we’re waiting on a decision.”
It’s a substantial fall for McCrorie who was once described as a “future Rangers captain” by Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard.
The versatile player spent last season on loan at Portsmouth and the Gers gaffer now sees no future for the player in Glasgow as it stands.
A popular player at Ibrox and one of the Rangers fans’ own, the news he is moving to one of our most fierce rivals has been met with mixed reviews by the Gers support:
