English Championship outfit Millwall are set to rival the Old Firm for the signature of Motherwell’s teenage sensation Jake Hastie, at least according to reports.
According to The Scottish Sun, the south London club watched Hastie at Killie on Saturday. This follows Scottish Sun reports in February that Rangers were chasing the midfielder alongside Celtic, Hull and Middlesbrough.
It’s testament to the superb form of the 19-year-old, who’s hit five goals in eight games for Well.

He looks a very promising young talent and his contract is up at the end of the season. However, Motherwell have offered Hastie a new three year deal, and the player himself has said it might be his best option.
“I’m still only 19,” said Hastie, as quoted by The Scotsman. “I’ve still a lot to learn about the game and here’s the best place to do it.

“I think Motherwell’s the best place for me. I just need to keep doing what I’m doing and keep playing well.
“I came all the way up since I was nine with David [Turnbull, fellow midfielder]. I just feel that playing together is even better right at the top. I’m over the moon, I’m happy. You can’t beat it.”

The right winger spent the opening half of the season on-loan at Alloa Atheltic but he’s been a revelation since returning to Lanarkshire.
There’s some big decisions ahead for Hastie who looks to be attracting interest from across the country.
