Rangers manager Michael Beale has publicly said that he wants Malik Tillman to be back at Ibrox next season, but former Gers striker Kenny Miller does not think that it would be a good idea.

Former Rangers striker Miller has said, as quoted in The Daily Record, that he thinks that Tillman has already decided that he will not return to the Scottish Premiership club for next season.

The pundit has added that Rangers should not spend as much as £5 million to sign the 20-year-old USA international attacking midfielder on a permanent contract.

As Rangers manager Beale has said, Tillman has gone back to his parent club Bayern Munich early from his loan spell due to a hamstring injury.

Beale has said that he would love for the youngster to return to Rangers for next season.

The Rangers boss is clearly happy with what the American star has done for the Gers.

According to STV, Rangers have the first option to sign the playmaker on a permanent contract for £5 million.

Tillman made 22 starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season.

The playmaker scored 10 goals and gave four assists in those games.

The youngster also made four starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League, scored one goal in two Scottish Cup ties, and played in three Scottish League Cup matches.

Kenny Miller on Rangers and Malik Tillman

Miller said: “I just think the boy might see his future elsewhere. That would be my gut instinct on it.

“I think it’s a big chunk of money. I think he is a wonderful player and Michael sees him every day in training, the potential he has got and the things he could accomplish.

“I just think it’s a lot of money for Rangers to be shelling out if it’s £5million.”
