Rangers boss Michael Beale has dropped the biggest hint yet that the Ibrox side are preparing for life without Alfredo Morelos this summer.
Colombian firebrand Alfie, 26, has struggled to recapture his form of yore in a Rangers jersey and with his contract up at the end of the season there is much debate over the player’s future.

Once the star player in the Ibrox squad, El Bufalo has been unable to convince supporters of both his fitness and commitment with the player’s wage demands claimed to be above what Rangers want to pay.
Alfredo Morelos is hardly justifying his cause to pay them at present either.
With Kemar Roofe a constant injury doubt and Antonio Colak the only other striking option in the side, it leaves Rangers short up top and the summer will be an interesting window in an attacking sense.
But as the conversation continues around Alfredo Morelos, Michael Beale has dropped the biggest hint yet that it may be the end of the road for the Colombian striker.
Rangers look for striker amid Alfredo Morelos contract situation
This comes with the Rangers boss giving a transfer update to the press, where he claimed a new number nine is one of four key positions he could look to strengthen between now and the summer.
“I would like us to add a midfielder to the squad that’s powerful and can run,” said Michael Beale [Rangers].
“I would like to have another centre-half and we will be looking at the goalkeeper situation in the summer. We will be looking for another number nine.”
If this is the end of the road for Alfredo Morelos at Rangers, Ibrox supporters will look back on the player’s Ibrox tenure with fondness and a tinge of sadness.
The club’s stand-out forward over the last six seasons, the striker is an Ibrox centurion and the club’s record all-time European goalscorer.
But there have also been moments of Alfredo Morelos madness and various patchy spells in his Rangers career which have meant the loveable Colombian rogue hasn’t quite reached his full potential at Ibrox.
Meanwhile, the latest on Morgan Whittaker has been shot down by the Rangers manager.
