Leaked WhatsApp messages appear to show Dundee sporting director John Nelms claiming he was threatened by Dunfermline chairman and SPFL board member Ross McArthur over the SPFL league-ending proposal vote.
The leaked chat logs – from the same Twitter account which leaked information regarding Dundee’s No vote submission to the proposals – appear to show John Nelms claiming, “I am currently being threatened by Ross McArthur”.
This is allegedly backed up by Inverness Caledonian Thistle chairman Ross Morrison.
The leaked messages also appear to show Dundee sporting director Nelms attempting to organise those SPFL clubs planning a No vote to send it at the same time as a show of “solidarity”.
The following quote is attributed to John Nelms:
“What are everyone’s thoughts on a co-ordinated submission of voting slips with likeminded clubs from different divisions.
“A bit of solidarity.”
There has been a lot of suspicions raised about the messages, with many fans across Scotland believing them to be fake and edited.
After all, the previously leaked chat-logs were in a chat involving Dundee secretary Eric Drysdale, not sporting director John Nelms.

Elements of the account’s previously leaked chat-logs were corroborated by ICT chief executive Scot Gardiner, who confirmed specific details on the leaked conversation between Caley, Partick Thistle and Dundee representatives in an interview on BBC Sportsound.
Rangers insider EstConsultancy are also claiming that these logs are real and any discrepancies in the images are because they’ve been cropped in such a way to protect the identity of a whistleblower.

As of yet there has been nothing official to confirm the legitimacy of these WhatsApp conversations but Rangers are continuing their calls for an independent investigation into the SPFL [Rangers].
These calls were repeated by Steven Gerrard who called for “real leadership” from SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan and described the situation as an “absolute mess” [Sky Sports].
