Max Lowe: what next for Rangers after Frank Lampard's Chelsea interest?

Rangers have been linked with a move for Derby County’s Max Lowe, with Celtic reportedly loitering should our rivals shift Kieran Tierney.
The left-back spent the majority of last season on loan at Aberdeen and impressed for the Dons. They’re also said to be interested in bringing Lowe to Pittodrie [Daily Express].
But any move could be forced to wait after Derby gave manager Frank Lampard permission to speak to Chelsea.

Whilst Gers fans might be immediately more interested in the Rams high-profile pursuit of Steven Gerrard as Lampard’s replacement, Max Lowe transferring between the clubs seems much more likely.
Both the club [Evening Times] and Steven Gerrard [Sky Sports News] have moved quickly to reiterate the commitment of the current backroom team.
With regards Lowe, any change of management could see any transfer movements in or out of Pride Park grind to a halt.
That means that should Rangers be interested in Lowe, that’ll grind to a halt too.
Left-back was seen as a problem position last season at Ibrox. Borna Barisic struggled to settle, and Rangers were forced to play Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday out of position.
Whilst it looks like Croatian international Barisic will be the first choice left-back this campaign, there appears a real lack of depth there.

If Rangers see Lowe as the solution to that they may need to wait until the saga surrounding Frank Lampard plays out.
Still, at least we can be safe in the knowledge it won’t be Steven Gerrard moving the other way.
