Premier League giants Manchester United have been linked with a move for Rangers-tipped Oussama Idrissi following the winger’s release from Sevilla.

Online outlet 90min claim that both Oussama Idrissi and fellow Dutch-Moroccan free-agent Anwar El Ghazi have been offered to the Old Trafford club.

This comes amid doubts surrounding the future’s of both Brazilian attacker Anthony and once highly-rated England talent Jadon Sancho this season.

The links to Oussama Idrissi take on an extra dimension given Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag worked with the player during a loan stint at Ajax in 20/21.

Oussama Idrissi was released following a season on loan at Feyenoord whilst Anwar El Ghazi has left fellow Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.

Manchester United, Rangers and Oussama Idrissi

Where Rangers come into things is in a report written by Football Scotland, who tipped the Gers to look at Oussama Idrissi as a potential Ryan Kent replacement.

This comes with Rangers manager Michael Beale having previously suggested that the Ibrox side hadn’t replaced the outgoing Ryan Kent in the summer.

Leaving for Fenerbahce, Rangers have also lost Fashion Sakala, Antonio Colak, Alfredo Morelos and Malik Tillman with the bulk of the club’s attacking talent moving on.

There are major doubts surrounding the £13m strikeforce Rangers has brought in to replace them and as now-Manchester United-linked Oussama Idrissi was released by Sevilla it had some pointing to the winger as a potential solution.

Rangers’ scouting department takes a thorough look at the players who come into the club with multiple factors considered before making the plunge.

The Gers need a cost-effective option with high potential and resale value who also has the necessary attitude and application to make it in Glasgow.

Whilst we’re sure 27-year-old Oussama Idrissi is a good player, on the kind of wages the Manchester United-linked attacker would be demanding this move is an almighty risk.

There’s also potentially a reason why Sevilla have severed the attacker’s contract one year early.

For us, it appears Rangers are set to attack with the squad they have at their disposal at least until January and the club will need to keep touch in the title race until then.
