A major Rangers boost appears to be edging nearer after Ryan Jack shared an image on Instagram suggesting that he trained at Auchenhowie on Wednesday.

Jack is one of several key Gers first-team players currently out of action, with Ryan Kent and Filip Helander both also sidelined.

However, the Scotland international, who hasn’t played for club or country since February, appears to be closing in on a return.

Steven Gerrard recently asserted that the 29-year-old was expected back on the grass at Auchenhowie very soon before adding that the plan was to have him rejoin the first-team squad in a few weeks [Rangers Review].

On Saturday, the player himself shared an image of a brand new pair of Nike Tiempo boots to his Instagram story and captioned it ‘soon’.

As of Wednesday morning, though, those boots are no longer unused.

Jack shared an image of the Tiempos lying on the blue flooring of the Rangers Training Centre covered in grass and added the audio and lyrics of Khalid’s song ‘Better’ to the Instagram story.

The social media move has plenty of Rangers fans excited, with many hoping that the midfielder will finally be back playing very soon.

The Gers have been short of options in the middle of the park at times this season with summer arrival Nnamdi Ofoborh also sidelined with a suspected heart problem.

However, John Lundstram has been impressive in recent matches and another summer arrival, Juninho Bacuna, is now up to speed and ready to contribute.

In other news, a Rangers star has been ruled out of an important international clash due to not being fully vaccinated.
