Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has taken to Twitter to express his gratitude after a young Rangers fan was videod singing the striker’s song.
The charitable and passionate Gers striker said “love this” to the youngster singing the catchy song, to the tune of Hey Baby, originally written by Bruce Channel and made famous by DJ Otzi.
The cute video was uploaded by the girl’s dad via Twitter.
It’s a nice touch from the former England striker to send the message.
Defoe, 36, is renowned for being a top-class professional on the pitch and a top-class person off it.
Perhaps the biggest example of the player’s kind heart and charity work concerns little Bradley Lowery.
Jermain Defoe developed a real bond with the youngster, who eventually passed away from rare rare cancer neuroblastoma at only six-years-old in July 2017.
The striker made numerous appearances with Bradley and did everything he could to ease the youngster and his family’s pain during such a difficult period and raise money for charity.
Bradley – despite being a passionate Sunderland supporter – also had a soft spot for Rangers through his bluenose dad and grandad [Daily Record].
Defoe was also awarded an OBE in November last year for his commitment and contribution to both football and charity.

The Jermain Defoe Foundation supports vulnerable, homeless and abused children in his family’s native St. Lucia, the Caribbean and the UK.
He dedicated the award to Bradley Lowery, before getting a tattoo to commemorate his young friend.
