Club legend Lorenzo Amoruso is back in Glasgow for a special speakers event in the city.
The event, which took place at Nacho Novo’s bar NN10, was the chance to hear some stories from the man who famously turned down Man United to join Rangers.
And the pair were also snapped enjoying the City yesterday.
Signed from Fiorentina for £4 million in 1997, Amo made over 200 appearances in six years at the club.
He would captain Rangers and become synonymous with the club over his time here. A physical, commanding presence at the back, Amo sacrificed a lot – including perhaps the shot of an international career – to make it at Rangers.
He could play a little too. Not to mention his ability to absolutely rocket a free kick.
Amoruso won nine trophies during his time at Rangers, with his final season perhaps the most memorable.
Rangers won the treble with Amoruso playing a pivotal role.
In the final match of the season, Lorenzo scored the winner in a 1-0 Scottish Cup Final win v Dundee.
He’d then break down into tears afterwards.
It’s great to see Lorenzo back in the City where he had the most successful time of his career.
The big Italian will always get a warm welcome at Ibrox.
