There has been plenty of extravagant transfer talk going into the summer transfer window, amongst them Liverpool midfielder James Milner.
Whilst there have been absolutely no official reports suggesting Milner has been linked with Rangers, it hasn’t stopped us pondering. The fact the former Leeds, Aston Villa and Man City player said he wouldn’t rule it out hasn’t helped [the Herald].
But the fact Milner just played 90 minutes in a Champions League semi-final might prove any talk of a potential move has been short-lived.

Milner displayed his versatility as he shifted out to left-back after starting in midfield at Anfield. He, like every one of the Liverpool team, put in some shift to dump Spanish giants 4-0 and earn a place in the Champions League final.
He also burst into tears on an emotional night on Merseyside in images which will be fondly remembered.
Steven Gerrard was at Anfield for the match
Steven Gerrard was there to watch his old side on one of Anfield’s most iconic nights. But the fact Milner played such a key role at such a high level suggests his future at Liverpool might not be over yet.
The passionate midfielder, now 33, has yet to agree terms on a new deal with his contract currently running down at Liverpool.

But should he even be released come the season’s end; the midfielder has proven he can continue to play at the highest level. The idea he could be convinced to head to Ibrox seems fanciful at best. It doesn’t mean we wouldn’t love it if we were wrong.
Milner’s also not the only former English international and Premier League star subject to Rangers transfer talk heading into the new season.
