Liverpool rejected two bids for Ryan Kent before accepting Rangers’ offer for the player, according to Sky Sports News.
The outlet is claiming that Liverpool rejected a £4.5m bid from Leeds United for Kent on the final day of the English transfer window.
They are also claiming that the Anfield club rejected a £5m from Russian club Krasnodar only two weeks ago.
Sky Sports also reiterated interest from “France and Belgium”, pointing to the reported interest of Champions League side Club Brugge.
It shows just how highly sought after the tricky winger has been all summer and how much of a coup it is for Rangers to sign Kent.
Liverpool’s stubbornness over the player’s transfer value – which could reportedly rise to £7.5m with a 20% sell-on clause – shows just how highly he is rated on Merseyside.
The Premier League title contenders clearly rate Kent but understand the 22-year-old needs to settle somewhere and play regularly in order to properly develop.
