Leigh Griffiths is closing in on a return to the Celtic side, at least according to Kris Commons.
The former Celtic player was writing in his Daily Mail column [as quoted by Football Scotland] that the striker is in a “much better place”.
Commons then goes on to say that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Griffiths was to play some part in Celtic’s title run-in.

Commons wrote: “Don’t be surprised if Leigh Griffiths fights his way back and plays a key part in Celtic’s run-in towards the end of the season.
“It’s my understanding that Griffiths is close to making his return following some off-field personal difficulties.
“He feels like he’s in a much better place mentally and is looking forward to getting back on the pitch and contributing.”

The news comes after Neil Lennon was appointed Celtic boss following Brendan Rodgers escape to Leicester City. Celtic fans didn’t take it particularly well.

According to Commons, this has reopened the door for the striker to return to action.
The Scotland international hasn’t kicked a ball for Celtic for the better part of three months after taking a break due to off-field problems.
He has consistently clashed with Rangers fans throughout his career and is sure to get a hostile reception at Ibrox.
