A leading British politician has paid tribute to the NHS by playing Rangers anthem the Blue Sea of Ibrox on piano.
Rangers fan will be well acquainted with Chris Sainty, who is the British ambassador to Portugal, after the club’s fans interacted with him following trips to play Porto and Braga.
Now, in homage to all of his “friends north of the border” Sainty plays out a stunning rendition of this old Ibrox classic.
Sainty has been playing songs on his piano in order to raise awareness of the immense sacrifice and job being done by the NHS during the global health pandemic.
Britain is under siege from the coronavirus and it is our health workers who are proving to be the last line of defence for many of us.
Rangers have been eager to position the NHS as the true heroes of this crisis with the Ibrox club opening their car park, offering their stadium and answering the NHS’ call.
Sainty first became acquainted with Rangers fans after he tweeted congratulations to the club following Rangers’ victory over Braga [Sainty] in the Europa League round of 32.
Such was the positive response of Rangers fans to Sainty’s pleasantries, the Embaixador Britânico em Portugal and lifelong Liverpool fan suggested he has a growing affinity towards the club [Sainty].
Playing Blue Sea of Ibrox will have done nothing to harm his reputation amongst Rangers fans, who showed their appreciation towards the ambassador back in February.
