As we enter the new season, there’s been plenty of talk about players coming in and out of Rangers. But in Greg Docherty, there’s been very little at all.
It bodes incredibly well for his role in this Rangers side next season.
Having the midfielder in the squad for next season is something which will excite Rangers fans.
Doc had a superb season on-loan at Shrewsbury last year. He helped keep the Shrews up and won a raft of awards at the end of Shrewsbury’s season, including their Player of the Year award.
And whilst there’s plenty of hype surrounding the impending transfer of Joe Aribo, Docherty’s statistics match up pretty well to the highly rated Englishman.
Joe Aribo might’ve fired Charlton to promotion from League One with 10 goals and five assists in all competitions, but Greg Docherty played a talismanic role in Shrewsbury’s survival in the same division.
The 22-year-old midfielder hit an impressive 10 goals and laid on a further 11 in Shropshire.
Now, it looks like Docherty will get his chance to impress at Ibrox next season.
