Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has branded the first half showing of his old side v Dundee United as the worst 45 minutes he’s ever seen.
The outspoken Ibrox hitman has not held back in recent weeks as Philippe Clement’s side begins to disintegrate and Rangers fall 11 points behind in the Scottish Premiership.
This week Rangers have announced a new CEO in Patrick Stewart, who will not start until after the Premier Sports Cup Final clash with Celtic.
But Kris Boyd reckons that if performances continue as they have been in recent weeks, Philippe Clement will be lucky to make it that far.

“It it keeps going the way it’s going it might be done before (Patrick Stewart starts),” Boyd told SunSport’s Go Ballistic.
”The first 45 minutes on Saturday (v Dundee United) was arguably the worst 45 minutes I’ve seen in a game of football.
”I get the conditions weren’t great, I get the Dundee United bus arriving late, albeit they were still able to pop off and have their pre-match meal.
”There was a lot of factors into why you could make excuses for a poor performance as such but I have never seen anything like that in my life, that first 45 minutes.
”The fans made their feelings clear at half-time. It was really poor.
”Second half Rangers got a little lift, but it wouldn’t have taken much and raise the standards.
“I think the Danilo and Hagi introduction at half-time because Dessers and Diomande were non-existent in the first half.
”It’s easy to look at a striker as well and I’ve had it all through my career. I feel sorry for Cyriel Dessers in a way.
“His performances haven’t been great but nobody, nobody creates anything for him. Nobody, nobody. The team are so far behind.”
Rangers fans have ‘had enough’
Kris Boyd also reckons that the Rangers fans have ‘had enough’ with how the club is being run with the Ibrox board having no choice but to act.
Philippe Clement and co has been serving up a series of genuinely unacceptable performances this season and there are few glimmers of hope as Rangers toil by the game.
With the front line struggling to score goals this season, Boyd has slammed an ‘acceptance of the poor performances’ and suggested fans are already walking with their feet.
”There is no doubt that Rangers are struggling in terms of the goal front,” said Boyd. “Nearly half the league has scored more goals than Rangers.
”There just seems to be nothing. There’s just an acceptance of the poor performances for me.
”Philippe Clement will come out but we’re at the end of November – this isn’t going anywhere. I can tell you right now, the fans have had enough.
”The walking around the pitch at the end of the game to try and applaud who was left in the ground; there was about 200 people left. They’re had enough.
”The Rangers hierarchy are at the stage now where they’re going to have to make a decision because the fans are starting to dwindle away.”
