Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has suffered a blow in his recovery from a troublesome calf injury as he looks to re-join the Ibrox squad this season.
Jacko, 29, is viewed as a major player for the Ibrox side but had a stop-start season last year as he struggled with the problem.

But after the issue was identified Jack went under the knife as the season rolled to a stop, missing the summer’s European Championships with Scotland.
Steven Gerrard has previously said having Jack back will be like having a “new player” and the Ibrox gaffer suggested the player was steadily improving in his race for fitness.
Only last week the Ibrox gaffer said that the club was awaiting the “green light” to step up the player’s recovery [Sky Sports].
However – and whilst there’s no suggestion the player has experienced a major blow – Steven Gerrard has revealed the club have been advised to “slow” the player’s recovery.
“Ryan Jack, we’ve been told to just slow down a little bit on Ryan,” said Gerrard [Rangers].
“So he’ll probably be another couple of weeks, all being well.”
Rangers fans will be hoping this is not a major issue for Jack ahead of this season after the player missed so much of the last campaign.
Signed from Aberdeen in the summer of 2017, Jack was one of the most evident examples of development under Steven Gerrard when the Ibrox Gaffer took over a year later.
If the Ibrox side can get Jack back to the peak of his powers this season it’s a major boost to a midfield area that is already packed with talent.
Speaking of the midfield, Gerrard confirmed today the club have made an offer for a midfield player who reportedly turned an Ibrox offer down in June.
