Kenny Miller has opened up on his painful Rangers exit, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
The 39-year-old striker was officially unveiled as a Partick Thistle player last week.
That makes it three different clubs since leaving Ibrox just over a year ago.
Firstly, there was a short-lived stint as player-manager at Livingston, before he captained Dundee to a bottom place SPL finish.
Despite all the turmoil since, though, he says he looks back at his Gers exit with particular disappointment.
“It’s not been a great 14 months, having left Livingston after only a handful of games as manager and then being relegated with Dundee,” Miller admitted, as quoted by the Scottish Sun. “But leaving Rangers in the manner I did was the worst part of that because of what the club means to me and the things I have achieved at the club and the service I gave. It was very disappointing.”
“I left Rangers out the back door with a black bag over my shoulder and not a person at Murray Park. I saw wee Jean and a few people in the kitchen and that was it.
“It’s disappointing when you have known people as I had over a long time. I had eight years of service spanning an 18-year spell. It was disappointing, but listen that was out of my hands.”
Miller also criticised the club for their handling of Lee Wallace last season [Scottish Sun].

Verdict
Clearly, Miller hasn’t yet been able to let go of his hurried Rangers departure.
He was out of contract with the club, but his exit was so hasty and brutal because of the fallout from an alleged row he and Lee Wallace had with then caretaker manager, Graeme Murty. The players would eventually successfully appeal the internal disciplinary action taken against them for their part in the incident [Scotsman].
Rightly or wrongly, though, it ruined Miller’s final months as a Ger.
He scored close to 100 league goals across three stints at Ibrox, winning plenty of silverware along the way.
However, he’s never been far from drama across a playing career that’s seen him sign for 12 different clubs. Opting for a brief stint with fierce rivals Celtic for the 2006-07 season is a prime example.
