Tasos Douvikas might have a high price tag but, a quick look at the statistics explains why Rangers are so interested.

Tasos Douvikas might not quite be on Erling Haaland’s level just yet but if Rangers dig deep for the reported €10m hitman, they might land a striker every bit as effective at winning games.
The Greek international’s 19 league goals aren’t the ridiculous 36 that the Norwegian machine scored, however, there are similarities between the two strikers.
They’re both over 6ft tall for a start, not essential, but it certainly helps in Scotland given the standard SPFL defender.
What is more important, is that Michael Beale wants a more clinical forward line and that is exactly what Tasos Douvikas would bring to Rangers.

According to FBRef.com, at 29.3%, Haaland has the best conversion rate of any of the top five league strikers, not really a shock.
A near one in three ratio is incredible.
Not far behind in the Eredivisie for a side that finished seventh and without the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish or Phil Foden supplying the chances is Tasos Douvikas at 24.5%.

Compared to Haaland again, more of his shots hit the target than the Man City stars.
Once upon a time Rangers might have been able to tempt Ronaldo, who was every bit as prolific as Haaland, now, we have to make do with the next best thing, and Douvikas could be worth every penny.
