Jean-Phillipe Krasso and Josh Maja should be on a list of names in Michael Beale’s office as he looks for a striker that can lead Rangers to glory.
The two forwards have scored 32-goals between them in Ligue 2 this season and are out of contract in the summer.
Jean-Phillipe Krasso and Josh Maja have also proven to be more than just goal-scorers after being nominated for the league’s player of the year award.
With Alfredo Morelos departing, Kemar Roofe struggling for fitness and in the last year of his contract, Michael Beale will be looking to land reliable, consistent options for his attack.
In Jean-Phillipe Krasso and Josh Maja, he has both.
Jean-Phillipe Krasso and Josh Maja should be Rangers targets
Being able to sign international class strikers with experience in Europe’s top leagues is getting harder and harder.
This is the calibre of player that Rangers should be targeting though.
On free transfers, both players would be bargains.
Despite playing in France, wages wouldn’t be an issue either given that Josh Maja is on a reported €50,000 a month and Jean-Phillipe Krasso €25,000.
Compare this to what we were getting in return for Alfredo Morelos’s €35,000 per week and it makes you think.
No wonder Rangers didn’t offer the Colombian a new contract.
Michael Beale’s defence and midfield is looking a lot better since Ridvan Yilmaz, John Souttar, Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell were added but the forward line still needs fine tuning.
Fashion Sakala is a willing runner but even he doesn’t know what he is going to do with the ball half of the time that he has it.
Sakala is the perfect example of a player that we should flip as soon as we get a decent offer or they should be third or fourth choice.
The Zambian international is never good enough to be a regular starter but, as a rotation option or back up, he is fine.
Signing Sakala on a free was good business because it gives the club more leeway in terms of selling him on.
The same applies for Josh Maja, who has been linked with a move, and Jean-Phillipe Krasso should they sign for Rangers.
If they don’t work out, their form this season will see them still have plenty of offers should we decide to cash in.
