Rangers are set to lock horns with Chelsea for the signature of Maritimo’s Croatian midfielder Josip Vukovic. At least according to reports.
A Bola reported in February that Rangers were interested in signing the highly rated midfielder. A defensive midfielder by trade, the 26 year old has been in sparkling form for Portugeuse outfit Maritimo.
So much so that talkSPORT are reporting interest from Chelsea, Benfica and a host of Premier League clubs. Brendan Rodger’s Leicester City are also reported to be interested.

Rangers obviously pose a different option than that of the megabucks English Premier League. But there is absolutely no doubt a move to Ibrox is a definite step-up from Maritimo.
Rangers are also well-stocked in midfield with the likes of Shrewsbury loanee Greg Docherty and the on-form Jordan Rossiter to come back in.
It could well come down to who is willing to give the player more game time. He’s certainly much likelier to get it at Ibrox than Stamford Bridge, but competition is high.

A former Croatian youth international, Josip Vukovic told Portuguese outlet Record he is eager to make a breakthrough into the Croatian first team.
He would join two Croatians currently at Rangers in Nikola Katic and Borna Barisic should he join, continuing a proud legacy of Croatian players at Ibrox.
