Rangers turned on the style on Wednesday night, to reach the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Kilmarnock and Steve Clarke have frustrated Gerrard’s Gers on several occasions this season, picking up a win and two draws from the previous three fixtures.

That hoodoo was well and truly ended this time around, though.

Of course, Rangers were helped by a red card for Daniel Bachmann.

Yet, in staying solid at the back and cutting loose in the second half, Rangers finally showed the Ayrshire side what they are capable of.

Alfredo Morelos rightly got most of the plaudits from the fans.

His four goal salvo was just another indication of his quality.

Yet, it was a night of strong displays and a new signing impressed in the middle of the park.

Glen Kamara made his debut on Saturday against St Johnstone, despite ridiculous claims from a leading pundit that he wouldn’t feature for Rangers until the end of the season.

He was the best of a bad bunch then, and retained his place for the cup replay.

Encouragingly, he doesn’t seem overawed at all by playing at Ibrox.

He has taken to it like a duck to water and he put in another athletic, skilled performance.

It’s now easy to see why Gerrard was so keen to push through the transfer.

Bears love him already, too. When he tweeted after the game, many passed on messages of support.
