Rangers media partners Heart & Hand provide an update on a potential injury to influential Ibrox midfielder John Lundstram in the win over Ross County.
Michael Beale has used the word “nasty” to describe the knock, which saw the player substituted early in the eventual 2-1 win over Malky Mackay’s side.
With Beale also suggesting that the player would be sent a scan, reports in the Scottish Sun have claimed that the situation is not as bad as first feared.
This was elaborated upon by Heart & Hand host David Edgar, who was speaking as part of the platform’s Daily Update for February 8th 2023.
“John Lundstram, you’ll remember at the weekend, rolled his ankle,” said David Edgar.
“After the match there were some conflicting reports, Michael Beale told the BBC that it looked a bad one then told us in the press room afterwards that he thought it was ok.
“But the latter has proved to be true. He had a scan and whilst he won’t play at the weekend but is aiming to be back the following week or if not the Cup Final against Celtic.”

The news will be a welcome boost to Rangers and manager Michael Beale, with any John Lundstram injury a sizeable blow to the club’s chances this season.
The Scouse midfielder is an important player for the club on and off the pitch and despite some indifferent form at times this campaign, remains a vitally important part of how the club play.
Rangers fans were also boosted by the performance of John Lundstram in the 3-0 win away to Hearts at Tynecastle and if the club can get the midfielder back from injury and in this form it will stand us in very good stead indeed.
Playing through the pain barrier for the club at times this year, John Lundstram has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals in 25 Scottish Premiership games.
Meanwhile, the prospect of Ridvan Yilmaz returning for Rangers looks an increasingly positive one.
