Jack Butland has been helpless with the two goals that Rangers have conceded so far this season with his defence not covering themselves in glory on a couple of occasions.
Connor Goldson leaves a 6ft 3inch sized hole in the back four, however, Robin Propper already looks like a shrewd acquisition.
The Dutch stopper and former Twente captain brings much needed experience and leadership to the squad.

Jack Butland happy with the direction Rangers are heading in
It is a transfer that will have reassured Jack Butland, who has revealed in the press conference as part of the build-up to the Champions League qualifier with Dynamo Kyiv, that he has held talks about his Rangers future and of the club in general.
Butland arrived last summer on a Bosman deal and immediately became an Ibrox favourite.
An uncharacteristic error in the Scottish Cup final didn’t reflect just how important a figure he had been throughout the season with a £6m bid from Nottingham Forest rejected in January.
A £10-15m valuation was placed on the keeper’s head but it doesn’t look like the 9-times capped England international is going anywhere, anytime soon, when asked about speculation:
“There is an idea of what we want to achieve and ultimately I want to be successful here. We have had conversations.
“My conversation with the club has been what are we doing, where are we going, how far are we going and how far are we pushing?
“Any player at any club, that’s what you want to know – the ambition. For me, no cloudy areas over that I am looking forward to the season and playing as well as I can.
“Everybody, you get the opportunity to speak with directors on planes, pick their brains and speak to people. That is what this club is all about. You’ve got to be together and it is a concern of mine.
“I am not concerned but it is good to speak with those people and know where the club is at, the direction and optimism, as a player there are things you want to know and be a part of.
“I hope my opinion is sometimes taken and matters as well and it’s a good relationship. I really enjoy how things are going.”
Butland can’t be the only elite level player if Rangers want success
Philippe Clement has talked about Butland being the only player in his squad that he wouldn’t sell.
He was maybe using the 30-year old to make a point, however, it did show how important the manager considers his number one.
What is encouraging, is that Butland probably could find another club if he wanted to but has heard enough from those who run the club that it is heading in the right direction.
There is no point signing a player of Butland’s quality and not replicating it throughout the squad.
He might be super, but he can’t do it all on his own.
