Is this the real reason for Rangers Kilmarnock ticket price?

Rangers fans were left unhappy after the club appeared to price some out of their Scottish Cup replay with Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
The price of £27 was perceived by some to be far too high for a replay and for the timing of the clash.
But is there a reason for it which goes beyond the desire to rake in some extra cash?

The game cannot be shown live on television. Although it will be shown by delayed transmission at 10.10pm on FreeSports, which takes place after the match.
Rangers TV can’t even show the game until 24 hours after the match.

This is because of two things. Firstly, there are UEFA Broadcasting regulations in place which prevent domestic matches to be screened live on the night one of the Champions League competition.
Obviously to encourage people to watch it.
Secondly, Scottish Cup broadcasting restrictions mean that Rangers can’t screen the game until 24 hours after the match has finished. So RTV subscribers won’t find the match on the platform until tomorrow evening.

So whilst at first glance it seemed the pricing for the Scottish Cup fifth round replay was a little high, it kind of makes sense.

Ibrox is going to be the only place you can watch the crunch tie tonight. Does that make the £27 worth the price?
