Rangers fans want Ryan Kent to sign on the dotted line for another season at Ibrox, but if he doesn’t, do Rangers have a safety net in fellow Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo?
The Ibrox club has made an offer for Kent, but nothing has been decided yet. Kent has said there’s a “possibility” the deal could happen.
Any move could largely depend on another side meeting’s Liverpool’s reported £12m valuation of the player [Liverpool Echo]. But should Rangers fail to get their man, Sheyi Ojo may well help soften the blow.

The tricky winger has spent the season on-loan at Stade de Reims in France’s Ligue 1. Reports are suggesting Ojo is to sign a new long-term deal at Anfield before heading out to Ibrox on loan [Daily Star].

Considering he plays in the same position as Ryan Kent, it doesn’t make sense for Rangers to sign them both.
Especially when you consider the imminent arrivals of Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie and the proposed move for Greg Stewart.
Not to mention the returning Jamie Murphy. He could well fill any void left by the winger’s departure if Rangers can’t sort out a deal with Liverpool.

The Rangers squad also contains widemen Daniel Candeias, Glenn Middleton and Eros Grezda. Granted, the latter’s future has been called into question recently.

Can you really imagine a Rangers squad next season that contains both Kent and Ojo amongst all those players?
Any move for Ojo might suggest that the club are resigned to missing out on Ryan Kent next season.
