There’s scarcely been such as protracted transfer saga at Rangers than that surrounding Dominic Solanke.

The striker has been linked with the club almost since the day Gerrard walked through the doors.

Now, reports from TalkSport suggest that the talented England U21 forward is set to join on loan come January. Whatever you have to say about it, it’s an exciting signing if true.

This is a leading youth international. One of England’s most revered talents. He is a powerful, promising force and will definitely add something to the side.

But is he the answer to our problems up front?

Dominic Solanke can be major part of our season

Provided we stay within touching distance come January, Solanke could be the difference between 55 and disappointment.

A player like Solanke – who also attracted interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham – will relish the opportunity here.

He won’t depose Alfredo, he’ll push him to be a better player too. Solanke can play anywhere across the frontline and is an excting prospect for club and country.

Provided we sign the right central midfielder, he might also be the final piece of the puzzle at Ibrox.
