Long-term reported Steven Gerrard target Dom Solanke looks set to leave Liverpool in January, but the Ibrox giants will have competition for his signature.

According to The Sun, the versatile forward has reportedly been made available for loan with the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham leading the race for his signature.

Rangers have been reportedly interested in Solanke for months.

The England U21 international has found gametime limited under Jurgen Klopp this year. He is also way back in the pecking order at Anfield.

The next move is about minutes for the 21 year old talent, but would he get it at Ibrox?

Dom Solanke would have to fight for a place here

If Rangers can make it happen, there is no doubt Dom Solanke would add a unique threat to our forward line. He can play right across it and he is one of the highest rated talents in the English game.

Without having seen too much of him, on paper at least it looks a good move.

But would Solanke get the game time he needs ahead of Alfredo Morelos? This could be the stickler on the move. Even if Rangers are reportedly on the hunt for a new frontman.

Whilst I’ve no doubt he would get minutes, Liverpool clearly see Solanke as a striker. He’s not going to get the nod in that postilion in the majority of the games so long as Alfredo is in the squad.

Palace are reportedly crying out for a striker and seem the favourites for the move. The Sun are reporting that West Ham are yet to convince him that he can get the minutes he wants.

Whatever happens, it looks like Solanke will be plying his trade somewhere else come January.

Could it be Ibrox?
